Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24

Five Forks Church will be holding our first LEGO Camp this summer.  We will be opening the camp to 48 students who regularly attend Five Forks and have completed 1st grade through 5th grade in 2015.  The LEGO Camp will be focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics(STEM).  Starting Monday July 20,  24 students will meet each morning from 9:00am – 12:00pm. Another group of 24 students will meeting in the afternoon each day from 1:00 – 4:00pm.  Students will be using the LEGO Education WeDo sets as our device and curriculum. These sets are easy-to-use way to introduce young students to robotics.

Students will be placed in pair before camp begins on July 20th. Our daily objective for each pair of students is that they will build and program a moving WeDo Lego model.  In order to do these objectives, students will be required to use reading, math, computer and engineering/design skills.  Students will be able to build Lego models featuring working motors and sensors; program their models; and explore a series of cross-curricular, theme-based activities.  Students will be developing their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as well as language, literacy, and social studies. There will be a daily Bible theme and story introduced each day as well.

Again, this camp is being offered to students who attend Five Forks Church who will commit to attending the program everyday on those dates. Parents and guardians are responsible for providing transportation to and from the church.

Sunday Morning, April 12th – there will be an information table in the Children’s Wing and someone available to answer any questions between services.
