Risky Business
In the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, there is a scene where Jones must cross a very deep and wide chasm to reach what is determined to be the location of the cup that belonged to Jesus of Nazareth. In this scene, there appears to be no obvious way to cross the abyss. But in a sheer display of faith, Jones commits to take that very risky first step toward the goal and finds that at that very instant, a stone mysteriously appears underneath his foot that fully supports his weight. And these steps continue until he safely reaches the other side. Not unlike Jones’ experience, loving people like Jesus can be very risky. But that’s what Jesus calls us to do – love people no matter where they are. Join us this Christmas Sunday as Pastor Ray shares about “Love Came Down at Christmas.” We hope to see you there!
One more reminder that we will be having two candlelight Christmas Eve services. The traditional service will be in the chapel starting at 3:00 p.m., followed by the modern service at 4:30 p.m. in the auditorium. We will celebrate communion at both, so be sure to join us on this very special night.
