Breaking the Law
Do you remember learning about Newton’s Third Law of Motion? It states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Unfortunately, human nature is much like this law – and that is if one is hurt, many times the response is to strike back with equal (and sometimes greater) force. In the church, there is the danger that we could set grace aside and become like the Pharisees who were focused on legalism, hypocrisy, and strict adherence to the religious laws of the day. However, the concepts of grace, forgiveness, and love make up the “more excellent way” that the Apostle Paul speaks of in 1 Corinthians 12:31. Join us this week as Pastor Brady continues the series called “Becoming Tov”, with this week’s sermon entitled “Becoming Gracious.” We have the opportunity to “break the law” of the of the Pharisees with the more excellent way through the power of the Holy Spirit.
See you Sunday!
