Christmas is here…almost!

Yes…Christmas is fast approaching.  Sunday, December 1st begins the season of Advent; a time of preparation and anticipation to celebrate the birth of Jesus…our Messiah and Savior!

We’ve already made mention about our Christmas Dinners (Tuesday, December 10-Thursday, December 12) and the Christmas Family Fun Event being held from 9am – 11am on Saturday, December 7th.  But here are two other important pieces of information as you make your Christmas Holiday plans:

Christmas Sermon Series – Our Christmas Sermon series will begin on Sunday, December 1st.  This year our series is called “What are you WAITING for?”  The word Advent literally means “coming” or “arrival.”  And it begs the question, at Christmas time, what coming or arrival, exactly, are we waiting for?  Of course, the obvious answer is the birth of Jesus.  But Jesus coming is about way more than just his being born.  Who exactly was Jesus?  And why is His birth so significant?  That’s what we’ll seek to unpack in our Christmas sermon series.

Christmas Eve Services – This year we will be holding three Christmas Eve Services at Five Forks Church.  So, you’ll want to mark your calendars now and begin making plans.  The first service will be held in the Chapel at 3:00 P.M.  Then two services in the auditorium; one at 3:30 P.M., and the other at 5:00 P.M.  All three services will include a time of worship through singing, a short devotional, and then followed by communion and candle-lighting.

Let’s make plans to celebrate the birth of Jesus together!
