Two Important Announcements

First, we are all aware that they are calling for “plowable” snow this weekend, which could have an impact on our Sunday morning services.  While it’s too early to make any decisions, here are some of the possible outcomes:
  1. The snow event does not materialize into anything significant, roads are clear, and services go on as scheduled.
  2. The snow event is significant, with snow-covered roads in different areas.  In this case, everything except the services themselves would be canceled.  The safety of our many volunteers is very important, so there would be no Student or Children’s Ministry, no Nursery, Discipleship Classes, or Café.  We would also not expect our accompanists (8:00) or Worship Team (9:45) to come out.  The exception would be the pastoral staff, as it would be their intention to live stream the morning message at both 8:00 and 9:45.  While the message could be pre-recorded, the pastors believe there is something of value in knowing we are “watching together live” as one and at the same time.  We experience a sense of community knowing that even though we are separated physically, we are in fact still together, even if for a short time.
  3. In the event that the snow is so significant that the pastoral staff cannot get to the church, we will simply cancel all services and this Sunday’s message – which is when the 2024 theme will be revealed – will be moved back to next Sunday.
If services are on as normal, no announcement will be made.  If services are impacted, we will put out an announcement possibly as early as Saturday evening or as late as 6:00 A.M. on Sunday.  The decision will be put on the church website (ffbic.org), sent out as an all-church email, posted on Facebook, sent out as a text blast, and there will be a recorded message on the church answering machine (717-762-2991).

Second, later this month we will begin the process of electing three individuals to serve on the Church Board starting in March of 2022.  HERE, you will find important information provided by each of the six candidates whose names appear on this year’s slate. Please take the time to read over this information and pray over this before voting.  Voting this year will begin at the conclusion of our Annual Council meeting on Sunday, January 21st, and run through Sunday, January 28th.
