“My Heart Aches” Over the past month we’ve been unpacking the life of Elijah, specifically his struggle with mental health as described in I Kings 19. This Sunday Pastor Shaun concludes this sermon series (Pursuing Wholeness) as we turn our attention to Emotional Pain; Elijah’s, and our own. Emotional pain is a bit more difficult to define than some of the other issues that we’ve looked at. If you’ve ever said, “My heart is aching”, that would be an example of emotional pain. Let’s gather together this Sunday and explore Elijah’s pain, and then learn how God steps into our lives to help us with ours.
Reminder: It’s Move Up Sunday and Blessing of the Backpacks…anyone involved in any capacity of education (students, teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, etc.) are invited to bring a backpack, bag, briefcase, or satchel to church. We as a congregation will join together to pray over the bags and the people they represent at 9:45. After the service, we will join in the courtyard for ice cream and fellowship!
