What We Value (Survey Results)

What We Value (Survey Results)

Thanks to all of you who participated in the recent Congregational Survey (Lead Pastor Search).  We received 181 responses with over half of them coming from the 60-79 age group.  What’s positive is that the responses received from the four other age groups were similar to the responses of this 60-79 group.  While surveys tend to reveal a wide variety of views, there were several things that stood out as important to many who responded.

For instance, those who responded view education as important, but place a much higher value on actual Leadership experience and Ministry experience.  In fact, various components of Leadership (relating well with others, staff and ministry oversight, skilled administrator) emerged as things that were important to those responding.  Giftedness and skills in the area of Preaching and Teaching also stood out as something highly valued.  Finally, in our search for the next Lead Pastor, we would want this individual to recognize the importance we place on building relationships and caring for one another.

Thanks again to those of you who responded to this survey, as it will help us better understand the desires and needs of our Church.  As one of many factors that will be used in creating the Lead Pastor profile, we have sent the results to our Bishop, Rob Patterson, who will begin his direct involvement in the search process when he comes to Five Forks to meet with the Church Board in July.

Please begin or continue to pray that God will be faithful in guiding us through this process and help us to discern who He is calling to fill the role of our next Lead Pastor starting in 2025.
