Five Forks to Host Sacred Assembly At the beginning of a new year, congregations across the United States who are a part of the Brethren in Christ denomination set aside a week in order to fast and pray, reflect and seek God. It is a meaningful way to begin each year, and in 2022 the Week of Prayer and Fasting begins on Sunday, January 2nd, and concludes on Sunday, January 9th. The theme for the week is “Choosing to be Counter Cultural: Engaging in a Deeper Faith.” Five Forks is a part of the Allegheny Conference within the BIC denomination, and our Bishop – Rob Patterson – has prepared a video to kick off the week. It can be accessedHERE.
The week will conclude with a Sacred Assembly which will be held here at Five Forks Church on the evening of the 9th, with a focus on praying for each church within the Allegheny Conference. Members of the Five Forks worship team have been asked to lead in a time of praise and worship.
Light refreshments will be available after the service. Any questions regarding the Sacred Assembly can be addressed to the Allegheny Conference Worship Council Chair, Diana Reinert atpastordreinhart@gmail.com
The denomination provides daily devotional material for each day that helps to guide throughout the week. Please make plans to participate with us, and then goHEREin order to gain access to the daily devotionals.
