The Church Board serves as the governing body here at Five Forks Church, and it is you, the congregation, that elects those who will represent you on the Board. Every January a slate of candidates is presented to the congregation, asking you to elect representatives that will serve on the Board for a 3-year term.
The Discernment Committee has the responsibility of coming up with and presenting to the congregation the slate of candidates, and the DC will now be looking to identify potential candidates for the Church Board. They will be looking to identify those who are passionate about Five Forks Church and embrace our desire to be followers of Jesus; those who are aware of and embrace the core values of our church and denomination. (To find a summary of our Core Values, our theological beliefs, as well as our position on select theological topics, please visit our church website – ffbic.org and click on: About Us/What We Believe.)
This committee is looking to you to help them identify those who fit this description and can help us carry out our desire to follow Jesus and be active in serving those in our surrounding communities. Would you be willing to submit names for the DC to consider approaching and gauge their interest in serving on the Board?
If so, please contact any member of the DC and share with them the name or names you would like for them to consider. Of course, if you are interested in serving on the Board, you are welcome to submit your own name as well!
DC members: Melanie Bitner, Lee Grimm, Marsha Oyler, Brad Sell, Rachel Showalter, Todd Smith, and Chad Yoder, with Pastor Bill serving as the Pastoral Representative.
