Communion, Cami, and Class There are three things that we would like to make you aware of as the weekend approaches. COMMUNION We will be observing Communion this Sunday, remembering that Jesus body was broken and His blood was shed for us. We hope that you will be able to join us and participate in In-Person, either at 8:00 A.M. or 9:45 A.M. If you are unable to join us in the Auditorium, we invite you to join us and participate from home by watching the live stream. If you wish to provide your own elements, here is the recipe for the bread that we have been using for years: COMMUNION BREAD RECIPE 4 cups flour
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 pound butter (1 stick)
1 cup milk (whole preferred but can use other)
Mix dry ingredients together. Cut in butter.
Add milk (warmed in the microwave for 30 seconds or so).
Knead until smooth and elastic.
Roll out on a pastry sheet or cutting board. Place on a baking pan.
Cut in squares with a pizza cutter, etc. Punch with a fork.
Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes.
We can also supply you with the communion elements just as we did at Christmas; simply stop by the church today, Thursday, or Friday between 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. and we will provide you with as many containers (bread/cup) as you need. If you are unable to make it to the church during those hours, just call the church office (717-762-2991) or email the office (email@example.com) and we will put however many containers you need in a bag with your name, and place it on a table in the Auditorium foyer. Stop by the church any time before 9:00 P.M. to pick up your bag.
Whether in-person or from home, we look forward to observing communion with you this Sunday!
CAMARA FEDORIW If you’re not aware, Cami has recently been hired to serve in the role of Nursery Coordinator here at Five Forks. We cannot understate the value of this ministry, both to our children and to our parents who are able to attend services, classes, and other church events when the nursery is adequately staffed with volunteers.
Cami will be at a table in the Auditorium foyer this Sunday and for the next few Sundays, and she would welcome the opportunity to meet you and talk with you about the small but important part you can play in helping us get the nursery up and running. If you would consider giving one hour per quarter, or every other month, or even every month, that would be an incredible help in getting our nursery fully staffed. Please stop by the table and introduce yourself to Cami, and let her know what you might be able to do. You will be serving not only the children, but Jesus, and His Church.
CLASSES We are looking to offer two Discipleship Classes starting this Sunday. There will be a Women’s Class that will be meeting in the Chapel basement from 8:30 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. There will also be a Discipleship Class open to everyone, led by Skip Russell, and meeting in the Chapel. This class will have a “soft opening” that will begin at 9:30 A.M., which will allow for a time of sharing praises, prayer requests, and what life is like for you in the midst of these uncertain times. At or around 9:45 A.M., Skip will begin the lesson, inviting anyone to ask questions or share insight about the Scripture text or topic.
Weather permitting, all three of these will be in play this Sunday! Keep abreast of any decisions regarding the services by going to ourchurch website or Facebook page.If you don’t already have these two sites bookmarked, now would be a good time to do so in order to stay up to date on the latest news! We will also send an all-church email if services have been canceled. If you would like to be added to our email list, please contact the church office (717-762-2991) orEmail.
