By Pastor Bill When someone close to you experiences success or receives recognition, do you find that it is easy to be happy for them, or do you find that you struggle? Our current sermon series is titled Make or Break, and this month we’ve been looking at a number of things – Character, Courage – that can make or break us as we look to follow Jesus. This week we’re going to read about David’s success and the different responses of two men: Saul is envious of the work that God is doing through David, while Jonathan embraces God’s work. His attitude is one of Goodwill, which is the theme of this week’s sermon. By looking at their reactions, we’ll be asking God to reveal to us how we tend to react to the success of others. The sermon is titled He Loved Him as Himself, and our Scripture passage is found in I Samuel, chapter 18, verses 1 through 14. We’re looking forward to seeing you this Sunday, but if you can’t make it in person, please be sure to catch the service as we live stream at 8:00 and again at 10:30. Go HEREfive minutes prior to either service to view the live stream. Go HERE for an outline for this week’s message. We’ll also be singing to God and about God as we gather; here are the songs for Sunday: 8:00 SERVICE
Praise Him! Praise Him! Because He Lives Deeper, Deeper Make Me a Blessing 10:30 SERVICE
God So Loved I Surrender Great Are You Lord Who You Say I Am Finally, just a reminder of what has become our standard protocol:
If you find yourself in a high-risk category, it would be wise to view the service via the live stream.
Please remain at home if you do not feel well or if you have been around someone who has not been well, and again, be sure to join us by viewing the live stream.
We will continue to ask that everyone (except for health reasons) wear a mask as you enter and as you leave.
Please continue to practice physical distancing at all times.
Even as we are seated in every other row, please go out of your way to establish a generous amount of distance between yourself and others when choosing your seat. The room is large enough for us to spread out quite a bit.
At the same time, please engage in conversations with those around you!
When using the restroom, please wash your hands thoroughly. Please continue to make use of the hand sanitizer that we have in the foyer and in the Auditorium
Thank you, and we’re looking forward to worshipping Jesus with you this Sunday!
