While giving thanks to God for His many, many blessings, He knows that this pandemic is causing us to miss out on some things that had become pretty important to us. Bible Studies, Sunday School, Life Groups, the Café are some of the things that are now missing from our lives.
While we are glad to be back holding services once again, engaging in the kind of conversations we’re used to and experiencing Community Life has been challenging. Starting next week and through the month of August, I’ll be setting aside three 1-hour time slots each week for those who are missing what Sunday School, Life Groups, etc. have to offer. These will be “Online Gatherings” with the hope of experiencing some aspects of Community Life that we have been missing.
Here are the time slots for the month of August:
Tuesday afternoons from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.
Wednesday evenings from 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Thursday evenings from 9:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M.
The hour will be broken down into 3 sections: Relationship Building, Discipleship, and Prayer.
Relationship Building: The first week we’ll take some time getting to know one another, sharing anything we’d like about family, vocation, and interests. We’ll share how the pandemic has impacted us, and follow up with how things are going in subsequent weeks.
Discipleship: We’ll go back to the Scripture passage we looked at on Sunday, and I’ll take any questions about the text or the sermon, as well as remind us about the ways we can be applying whatever God taught us.
Prayer: I’ll lead our group in prayer, looking for participants to feel free to share praises and requests.
If interested, all you need to do is email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and let me know which time slot you are interested in. It would be good to have the sermon outline on hand this Sunday morning, so you can jot down questions or thoughts that you would like to share when we gather. These outlines are posted online every Friday and are also available at the door.
Note: These Online Gatherings will be done through Zoom, an easy and reliable means of gathering and interacting with one another via video conferencing. If you don’t have it, go online to Zoom.US and sign up for free.
