What We’re Doing Well

A few weeks ago as we prepared to begin gathering once again, we put out some guidelines regarding entering and exiting the services, physical distancing, the wearing of masks, what we would do if we filled the auditorium to capacity. We said that after a few weeks we would evaluate what we were doing well, or not so well, and make necessary adjustments.
As a staff, we couldn’t be more pleased with how well all of you are working together to help things run smoothly on Sunday mornings. As far as entering and exiting, we appreciate the fact that everyone is coming in and heading directly to his or her seat, and once the service is over, leaving in an orderly manner so that there are no areas of congestion.
The “every other row” seating is also going well, and we will continue to take steps to make sure everyone is aware of which rows to be seated.
Perhaps the area where we are most appreciative is in the wearing of masks. I imagine that just about all of us are aware of how divisive the mask issue has become, and so we just want to extend a heartfelt Thank You for your willingness to serve and care for others by wearing a mask as you enter and leave.
This is something we will continue to ask everyone to do for the foreseeable future, but as we said, please feel free to remove your mask once you are in your seat.
As far as potential overflow, we have not had to move people to the Chapel or Gym due to reaching our capacity of 200-250 in the Auditorium. The 8:00 service has averaged between 70-80 for the past two weeks, while the 10:30 service attendance has ranged from 120 to 150. Seating is still available, and so no adjustments are needed at this time.
Finally, thanks to those of you who have contacted us to let us know that while you’re not yet ready to come back into a large gathering, you are watching one of the two live stream services every Sunday morning. It’s possible that on these past two Sundays, we have just as many watching the live stream as we have had present at the church. Thank you for joining us, and please continue to do so…this is very encouraging to us!
It’s great to be back together again! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding the regathering process, we will do our best to answer any questions you may have.
One final thing: For those of you who are joining us in memorizing the Scripture text for our sermon series What’s In a Name?…here is where we are at thus far:
Exodus 34:5-7 – Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the Lord. And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God,…
The LORD bless you and keep you!
