First, we would like to express our appreciation to all of you who participated in yesterday’s worship service via the live stream. It was great to see the Five Forks Church coming together during this time of uncertainty, even as we were scattered all throughout the area.
Second, we have made the decision to postpone or cancel all on-site services/events at Five Forks Church through Saturday, March 28th. Starting today, our custodians will be doing a thorough cleaning/disinfecting of the church complex. The church will be locked during these next two weeks and we are asking that no one enter (even if you have a master key) except for essential staff. The exception will be this coming Sunday as staff will be joined once again by a few members of the Worship and AV Teams, and we will live stream at 9:30 just as we did yesterday. Please make plans to join us at that time!
Finally, we would like to ask you to reflect on and then practice Paul’s exhortation to the church:
“Rejoice in the Lord always.
I will say it again: Rejoice!
Let your gentleness be evident to all.
The Lord is near.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
During this time of great uncertainty, we are compelled to pray. With a joyful heart, a gentle spirit, and an attitude of thanksgiving, we are to turn our anxiety into prayer, bringing our requests to God. This is our part. It is then that we will experience the peace of God; a peace that we can’t explain, but an experience nevertheless. May His peace be evident in your life today, and in the days to come.
