Giving & Gathering

In yesterday’s email to the congregation regarding the Coronavirus, we said that there will be some in our church family who will choose to reduce their risk by remaining at home rather than attending Sunday services.  In light of this, some are asking the best way to continue to give tithes and offerings in order to support the ministry of the Five Forks Church.
A few years ago we made it possible for those in our congregation to give online.  And so each week thousands of dollars are received electronically in addition to what is received when passing the offering baskets.  If you have never made an online contribution, it’s quite easy.  Simply go to this link and follow the instructions:

Also in yesterday’s email, we wrote of the many updates being sent our way due to things constantly changing.  Yesterday, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf outlined several steps for the people of our state to take, including the postponement or cancellation of large gatherings with 250 people or more.
While our Sunday morning attendance has been averaging over 500, we believe that we will find ourselves well below that threshold due to the fact that this number is spread out over 4 services.  Our 600 seat auditorium also allows us ample space, that is, we do not find ourselves confined to close quarters.
There are two things to be aware of, however.  First, there is the possibility of combining some of our children’s Sunday School classes this Sunday, and perhaps next Sunday as well.  This will be determined by the number of students and teachers/volunteers that we have attending.
Also, while we feel it is not necessary to cut ourselves off from public life, we do believe that it would be wise to not operate the Café this coming Sunday, and possibly next Sunday as well.  Thank you for your understanding.
Again, as a staff, we are working together, keeping current with the latest updates and together we are making decisions that we believe to be prudent.  Thank you once again for your prayers as we continue to look to ensure the well-being of our church family.

The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you.
The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
