Four Upcoming Events

We have arrived at a very special and meaningful time of year, and here at Five Forks, we are looking forward to reflecting, celebrating, and worshiping with you!  Here are four special events that will be taking place over the course of the next six weeks:
Thanksgiving Service – This will be held on Sunday evening, November 24th at 6:30 P.M.  It will be an evening of praise, worship, and sharing about the Lord’s goodness.  Additionally, our Deacon couples will also be bagging the food that has come in (and continues to come in) and they will distribute the bags to those in need within our church family.
Advent Sermon Series –  December 1st marks the first Sunday of Advent, and the Pastors will begin a 4-week series titled:  And His Name Shall Be Called.  We will be looking closely at Isaiah 9:6 which reads, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful CounselorMighty GodEverlasting FatherPrince of Peace.”  Each Sunday of Advent we will consider one of those four descriptions of Christ.
Christmas Dinners – Our Community Christmas Dinners will be held over a 5-night period beginning Monday, December 9th through Friday, December 13th at 6:30 P.M.  Reservations can be made ONLINE starting Sunday, November 17th, by calling the Church Office or by filling out one of the registration forms located in church mailboxes or at any of our Information Tables.  While donations are accepted, there is no charge for this meal that is hosted by our Hospitality Committee and many volunteers.
Christmas Eve Services – We will be holding four services this Christmas Eve.  Three services will be held in the Auditorium (3:00 P.M., 4:30 P.M. 6:00 P.M.) and one in the Chapel at 4:30 P.M.  There will be communion and candle-lighting at all four services.  We look forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus with you on that day!
All of these provide great opportunities to invite family or friends, and give them a chance to experience for themselves a church community that desires to know, love and follow Jesus!
