Connect Class Begins This Sunday

I’m really looking forward to this Sunday morning, as we’ll be offering – for the very first time – a 3-week Connect Class here at the church.  This class is open to anyone who has recently started attending Five Forks, or for those who have been attending for some time but have never felt connected.

This class will meet in the fellowship room underneath the Chapel from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. and there will be a different facilitator each week.

I’ll have the first week (October 6th), talking about Who We Are and What We Believe, both as Brethren in Christ and the Five Forks Church.

Steve and Melissa Mitchell lead the second week (13th) and will be sharing about How We Function.  They will provide information about the role of the staff, the role of the Church Board, Finance Committee, Deacon Board, and other Boards and Committees.  We’ll talk about the purpose and importance of our annual business meeting (Annual Council).  It will provide an opportunity for people to learn how decisions are made.

Chris and Jennifer Bumbaugh will lead the third week (20th), talking about Opportunities to Get Involved.  We have over 25 boards, committees or ministries here at Five Forks.  We believe that everybody who is a part of our church family has a role to play in helping our church effectively serve Jesus, the surrounding communities, and each other!

Again, if you have started attending Five Forks in the past year or two, or if you’ve been attending longer than that, but aren’t involved and don’t feel connected to our congregation, I would love to have you join us!
