Introducing Chris Phillips as Director of Children’s Ministry
The Church Board is excited to introduce Chris Phillips as our new Director of Children’s Ministry.   Over the past month, Chris has gone through multiple interviews, initially with the Search Committee, then with the pastoral staff, and finally with the Church Board.   We believe he brings the skills, education, creativity, and passion needed to lead our Children’s Ministry program here at Five Forks.
Chris is a graduate of Millersville University, Wesley Theological Seminary and brings experience as Children’s Pastor and Director of Christian Education.  At his previous two churches in Smithsburg, MD and Lancaster, PA, Chris cultivated vibrant Christian Education ministries that engaged children, youth, and adults, fostering both volunteerism and participation.  As a result, relationships with Jesus were developed and discipleship occurred not only within the walls of the churches but in the community and local schools.
Originally from Lancaster; Chris and his family currently reside in Chambersburg.  Chris and Michele have been married 23 years and she is a school counselor at Waynesboro Area High School. They have 3 children, Katie (15), Nathan (14), A.J. (12), all students in the Chambersburg School District.  They also have a 4-year old Golden Retriever named Hope.
Chris and his family enjoy traveling with their favorite destinations including Cape May, NJ, and Mackinaw Island, MI.  He also enjoys camping, hiking, reading and concerts (with his kids and Chris Tomlin being his top choices), but his greatest desire is to lead children and their families into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
In the next few days, we’ll select and announce a date when we will introduce Chris and his family to our congregation on a Sunday morning.  Please give Chris and his family a warm welcome to our family as we continue to live out our purpose of knowing, loving and following Jesus!
