“…continue to work out your salvation…”

Our August sermon series is titled From Slavery to Intimacy.
Slavery we looked at in week 1.
Salvation we looked at last week.
Intimacy is what we’ll look at next week when we wrap up this series.
But for many of us, we don’t go directly from salvation to this intimate relationship with Jesus where trusting and obeying Him comes easily.   We do experience Jesus working in our lives, and we sense His presence with us.  It’s just that for most of us, there is this process that I believe the Scripture is referring to when it says “…continue to work our your salvation in fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you.” (Philippians 2:12-13)
This implies that God has his part, doing what only He can do.   But we have our part as well.   And so this week Pastors Bill (Auditorium) and Ray (Chapel) will be taking us through Exodus chapters 16 and 17, looking at what God does and what we must do in this process of working out our salvation.  And by doing so, experiencing intimacy with God.
