“Come, let us build ourselves a city…”

God’s Word has a lot to say about cities. The opportunities…the potential for conflict.   These are some of the things that we’ll be looking at this Sunday in the Auditorium as Pastor Bill continues our July sermon series called Ancient Words, Ever True.
You might be saying, what does this have to do with us, living here in Franklin County, with farms and fields just about everywhere you look.   Well, the population of “the great city of Ninevah” was over 120,000. The population of Franklin County is a little over 150,000.   You could make the case that the area in which we live rivals some of the great cities in ancient times. And therefore we have the same opportunities and face the potential for conflict just as they did thousands of years ago.
This is what we’ll be talking about this Sunday as Bill brings the message titled Strength – And Danger – In Numbers.
Pastor Ray continues his July sermon series in the Chapel. The series is called Our Weakness, God’s Strength, and so far we have looked at depression, temptation and shame.   This week we’ll be looking at Loneliness.  Ray’s message is titled Talk to Me and our Scripture text comes from Psalm 142.
