“What then is this bleating of sheep…?”

As we continue to look at What Is Wrong With Us, this week we’ll be looking at Sin as Self-Deceit. And perhaps there is no better example in the Scriptures than the tragic story of Saul, the first king of Israel.
Self-Deceit is when we know the truth, but deny the truth, because we can’t face the truth. Saul denied what he knew was true, and lost the ability to tell the difference between truth and lies.   It can happen to any of us. Pastor Bill brings the message in the Auditorium, and our Scripture text will be I Samuel 15:1-23.   Take time to read this passage before you come on Sunday…you’ll be guaranteed to get more out of the message.
In the Chapel, Pastor Ray wraps up his 2-week series on Gideon with a message titled An Alternative to Revenge and Idols. We will look at Gideon’s response when insulted, and consider how we can do better when this kind of thing happens to us. Our Scripture text is Judges 8.
