Not “The Good Old Days”

Auditorium Series: King Me

Sermon: “Is God Left-Handed?”  (Judges 3)

Our current sermon series has us in the period of the Judges. A 300-year period where Israel had no king, and everyone did what was right in their own eyes. It was not “the good old days.”
This “King Me” posture runs throughout the book of Judges, and this Sunday Pastor Ray will share 2 stories with us…one about a man named Othniel; the second a very fascinating story about a left-handed man named Ehud.  Our Scripture text is Judges 3.

Chapel Series: Life Happens

Sermon: Hard, Harder, Hardest  (Genesis 39)

“Now Joseph was well built and handsome, and after a while his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said, “Come to bed with me!” (Genesis 39:6b)
“She caught him by his cloak and said, “Come to bed with me!”   (Genesis 39:12a)
Last week we saw that God was there with Joseph through his sufferings, and this Sunday we’ll see that God is with Joseph through his temptations. Pastor Bill will take us to Genesis 39 and talk about the three temptations of Joseph.   The first one is hard, the second one – the easily recognizable one – is harder. The third may be the hardest of all…and most of us will be able to identify with all three.
