By Pastor Bill
By now many of you are aware that Pastor Adam has received and accepted an offer to become the primary preaching pastor at the Antrim Brethren in Christ Church.
When Adam was first approached about this position, he shared with me the appeal of being able to devote himself almost exclusively to doing what he loves the most…studying God’s Word and then sharing the insight God has given him with others. At Antrim Adam will have the opportunity to preach – with few exceptions – virtually every Sunday of the year. At the same time, Adam shared with me that the relationships he has formed with many from within our church does not make this move an easy one.
My initial response was one of disappointment, not just because Five Forks is losing a pastor, but also because over the past 5 years Adam has become a close and trusted friend. I have – like you – come to appreciate and value his insight and his leadership skills. We will miss him.
However, as Adam was faced with the decision to remain or go, I shared with him that above all else, I was confident that he would follow the Lord’s leading regardless of his personal preference.
This will be Adam’s last Sunday at Five Forks and he will be bringing a message titled “Saying Farewell with the Gospel”. We hope that you will be able to attend and join us as we send Adam and his family (Danielle and Graham) off with a prayer of thanksgiving for his time of service with us, and a prayer of blessing as a new chapter begins in his life and ministry.
